Greener Technology Solutions for National Recycling Week

JISC Advance finds technology solutions for greener universities and colleges

It’s National Recycling Week (18-24 June). To celebrate, JISC Advance has a range of resources to help your organisation embrace technology and become greener and leaner. These include:

  • XChange, launched by JISC Procureweb last year to facilitate institutions to market their unwanted items to others in the sector. With items from microscopes to desks, from ice machines to freezers, Xchange is an excellent way to recycle your unwanted goods and increase efficiencies in your institution.
  • JISC infoNet, in partnership with John Wheatley College, developed a case study highlighting the ways that classroom design can promote efficiencies whilst embracing green technology.
  • Just as with sorting your domestic recycling, the disposal of information should also be handled with care.  JISC Legal has the most up to date advice on Data Protection and Freedom of Information to make sure that the green bottles don’t go in the clear bin.
JISC Advance has services across the UK and can offer you technology advice and guidance, not just on sustainability and recycling but a host of other topics affecting the post-16 education sector.
